Batadoowa Sri Vishnu Dewalaya started this yearly event in year 2001. Since the beginning this event was a special event for every one, not only for people from Galle district but all around the country awaited anxiously to view this great display of traditional arts. As a result of their request Perahera and Dewa Mangalya is continuously held since then.
